Great Review in NM Magazine

New Mexico Magazine ran a great review of Don Bullis' new book "New Mexico Historical Chronology." You have to see the book to totally appreciate this review. The book is 1,014 pages long!

The Car Accident

Yes, I had a car accident. At 11am on a Monday! In bright sun and great conditions. And it wasn’t one car but three. What a mess! No telling at this point who was at fault or if it was a perfect storm. No tickets were given at the scene.

But this accident has caused me to make a number of observations:
1. We are too dependent on cars.
2. We are screwed by insurance companies. Mine took five hours to take the needed information. That is after three calls to my local agent.
3. Always carrying a phone so you can call for help and take pictures. I called my husband and he came right away.
4. People get very unusual after an accident. I don’t know if I am imagining it. But behaviors were interesting. Not being hurt and having all my information in my purse, I was able to watch everything.
5. After an accident you are inconvenienced big-time. At least in my case, NO ONE takes care of it. You have to dog EVERYTHING.
6. I loved that car. It wasn’t even a year old. The insurance company says, having not seen it, that it can be repaired. Since the engine was destroyed and the frame bent, I kinda doubt that.
The drama just begins on this!
