The Writings of Nasario Garcia

I have said it before, Nasario Garcia is one of the nicest guys in New Mexico. His wife Jan isn’t bad either! This prolific Santa Fe author has two new books out for the holidays!

No more BINGO comadre published by UNM Press, is fun, light, and a perfect gift for someone you know who does BINGO! It is so New Mexico, and you think it is made up. But Northern New Mexico is like this book. There are stories about Halloween, roosters, family, and of course, BINGO!

Grandma Lale’s Magical Adobe Oven is published by Rio Grande Books in Los Ranchos. This bilingual story is a perfect gift for kids. The illustrations are by Dolores Aragon of Peralta – near Los Lunas.

This is the third book in the series about Junie Lopez. It shows the importance of adobe ovens to the Hispanics of New Mexico and the wonderful things you can bake in the oven.

Nasario will be signing books at the UNM Bookstore on Tuesday, November 13, at noon and Nasario and Dolores will be at the Los Lunas Museum of Art & Culture on November 24, 2-4pm. Both are good places to buy for holiday gifts. Books make the best presents!
