Bookworks April 4
Bookworks, on Rio Grande Blvd in the North Valley of Albuquerque, is having an event to raise money on April 4, at 6pm. Why do they need to raise money you ask? First of all, if you haven’t been in Bookworks in a few weeks, it is in the process of being completely renovated. But they need even more money to buy new book shelves. As long as I can remember, the store has not been renovated. It has been an important part of the North Valley for 35 years.
Ross Van Dusen of the North Valley will unveil his new book – The Crocka Dog in the Evil Forest about anti-bullying with a cute puppy for kids and a good gift for summer reading. Also, Francelle Alexander will sign copies of her new, best selling books on the North Valley – Los Candelarias & Los Griegos and Alameda & Los Ranchos. Both books have been a surprise hit with the books selling out and being reprinted FAST!
The event will also feature Irish music from Már Ata and goodies from Flying Star next door.
If you can’t go to the event, you can donate online. Just go to Bookworks to donate. It is important to keep local businesses afloat and it is very important to keep READING!!
