Grand Opening of Cabela's
I decided that I had nothing better to do at 6am, so why not go to the opening of Cabela’s? New Mexico has a love of events in the morning dark – Balloon Fiesta, Indian and Spanish Markets.
So, at 5:45am, I was #514 in line for the opening at 10am and the first 500 got gift certificates up to $500. Too bad. But Cabela’s was still organized and fun. I have never seen so much camo in my life. I even wore camo! And I think, almost every pick-up truck in New Mexico was on the parking lot or two make-due parking lots. Cabela’s had freebies, bands, and all the TV stations were there.
Cabela’s will be a great addition to Albuquerque. People have said for years with the hunting, fishing, and sports traditions of New Mexico, why isn’t there a Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shop? Now there is! Welcome Cabela’s!
