Sending our Prayers to the Capital Gazette family and victims
The Annapolis Capital Gazette With Thanks To Harry Smith
On this Sunday’s news magazines was Harry Smith with his tribute to the five killed in Annapolis at the Capital Gazette and the American newspaper. The newspaper is important though it is suffering. Papers have gone out of business, much smaller, bought up, or content is poor and limited.
But I digress. The entire industry is shocked by the five killed in Annapolis. I know Annapolis and I wrote for the Columbia Flyer – bought by the Baltimore Sun who owes the Capital Gazette. The murders hit home. There is no excuse for what happened and no explanation. We have descended into madness.
There have been shootings at newspapers, schools, churches, stores, malls, stores, on streets, and business buildings. Nothing is exempt. This seems like the norm but shouldn’t be. We have to be better than this.
Where are our politicians? On vacation of course. They should be concerned but aren’t. Where is our President? At one of his resorts, of course. He doesn’t care because journalist write fake news and they just don’t matter. We are we?
Shooting should not be the norm!
